Partners and / or associated partners have sights that are protected by UNESCO and / or are protected by Natura 2000 special protection areas, or they will become protected areas as a part of project PRONACUL pilot activities. The development of new industries has led the project PRONACUL partners to find themselves in a situation where it is necessary to stop the neglection of the natural and cultural heritage and create space for new content.
Therefore, the main goal of the project is to improve conservation management of natural and cultural heritage for other purposes that are more appropriate to the time and foreseeable development. This will be achieved through the development, use and promotion of a common methodology for conservation management of natural and cultural heritage in the Adrion area, that will be based on a participatory approach towards the stakeholders.
The methodology will be tested and subsequently applied in pilot areas where clusters, which include local, regional and national actors in the field of tourism, are already established. Experiences from the pilot areas will contribute to the creation of the final proposal for the inclusion of a common methodology, that will be defined as a regional way. The activity will be supported by the establishment of a virtual chamber for the promotion of the methodology and its transfer to other areas of Adrion.
The Chamber will be a consultative body for the developers in the field of tourism and will operate through an online platform where regions will exchange experiences and good practices in the field of conservation management of natural and cultural heritage. In order to improve policies for more efficient conservation management of natural and cultural heritage, the methodology will be disseminated among policy makers in the form of recommendations for concrete local, regional and national strategy papers to ensure development and promote of valorisation and preservation of natural and cultural heritage, especially in terms of sustainable tourism.
Duration of the project: 1st April 2020 – 30th September 2022; optional 30th December 2022.
